If you are looking for something to inspire your children and you’d like to have a go at something a bit different, come along and get the whole family involved.

Led by artist educator Dorcas Casey, activities are tailored for a wide age range (recommended 5-11yrs) and vary from sticking, collage and drawing, as well as exploring other ways of art making such as printmaking and using textiles. The sessions are a great way to spend quality time together in an informal, supportive and friendly environment, as well as a fantastic opportunity to pick up some top tips for making art at home. Activities are inspired by the exhibitions in our galleries so spend the day with us visiting the gallery spaces and the Edge Arts cafe.

In May’s session families will make their own mini parachutes, create photo galleries in shoeboxes plus a whole lot of squishy paint activity fun.

Tutor: Dorcas studied at Winchester School of Art and works as a sculptor based in Jamaica Street Studios in Bristol. Alongside her practice she teaches workshops using many different materials. She is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors having been awarded a bursary from them in 2013. She won the Public Speaks Award in the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize and her work features in the new book The Language of Mixed Media Sculpture. dorcascasey.com
