The Edge Arts Community (EAC) is a thriving, creative network run by and for our students. It is free to join and open to all students at the University of Bath. The EAC aims to inspire creativity across campus and encourage more students to get involved in arts activities.

The EAC offers something for everyone from dance classes to life drawing workshops. We host regular socials and events giving you the chance to take a regular break from your studies and meet like-minded people in a fun, informal setting.

Whether you’re interested in art, music, dance, theatre, writing or film the EAC has plenty to offer you.

Any University of Bath student can join the EDGE ARTS COMMUNITY for FREE. By signing up to be part of the community you will be part of something special.

Meet the Team

The EAC is led by 2 Supervisors, a Marketing Coordinator, 3 Event Coordinators and a Postgraduate Coordinator who are students employed on a casual basis alongside a voluntary Steering Group who make important decisions about the future direction of the EAC.

The Steering Group meets once a semester and is open to all EAC members.

The EAC aims to inspire creativity across campus and encourage more students to get involved in arts activities.

The EAC is led by 2 Supervisors, a Marketing Coordinator, 3 Event Coordinators and a Postgraduate Coordinator who are employed on a casual basis alongside a voluntary Steering Group who make important decisions about the future direction of the EAC.

Job Roles

EAC Supervisors

The purpose of this role is to guide the coordinators and co-chair the Steering Group acting as leaders to ensure meaningful outcomes for EAC members and students arts in general. They gain valuable professional development experience working closely with the University’s arts team. They also make decisions about the EAC events programme allowing them to pursue their own creative interests.

Maximum 10 hours per week at £9.17p/h & Holiday Pay = £10.28

EAC Events Coordinators

The EAC Event Coordinators work closely with EAC colleagues and the Steering Group to plan and deliver all EAC events including; Freshers’ Week, Open Days, workshops and socials. They gain valuable professional development experience working closely with the University’s arts team.

Maximum 10 hours per week at £9.00p/h & Holiday Pay = £10.09

EAC Marketing Coordinator

The EAC Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the promotion of all EAC events as well as the development and implementation of the EAC communications strategy (alongside the Office for the Arts marketing team). They work closely with EAC colleagues to promote the EAC brand and engage more students in EAC activities. They also input into the EAC events programme allowing them to pursue their own creative interests.

Maximum 10 hours per week at £9.00p/h & Holiday Pay = £10.09

EAC Postgraduate Coordinator

The EAC Postgraduate Coordinator works closely with EAC colleagues and the Steering Group to plan and deliver EAC events with a focus on Postgraduate students including; Freshers’ Week, Open Days, workshops and socials. They act as a representative of the University’s Postgraduate community and help to ensure The Edge is effectively serving Postgraduate students.

Maximum 10 hours per week at £9.00p/h & Holiday Pay = £10.09

Arts Development Fund

If you’re a student (or member of a society) at the University of Bath and are planning a creative project, you may like to apply for financial support from the Arts Development Fund, which exists to promote and support arts excellence among our student community.

The Arts Development Fund is administered by our EAC Advisory Board and can support any arts-related activity so, if you’re planning an event, want a professional masterclass or need new equipment, apply today.

Applications are accepted throughout the year and are assessed during the EAC’s monthly board meetings.
