'Pee Wee Ellis In Conversation with Ian Shaw' - Out this week on JAZZ FM

Tune in to JAZZ FM (UK) at 6pm, Friday 15 June 2018

International musician and composer Pee Wee Ellis, who mentored our students towards the excellence showcase Platform this year, returned to campus on the 26 May to be interviewed by jazz singer Ian Shaw about his life and times.

Pee Wee shared lesser known stories about his extraordinary life in music and used personal photos and his own records to illustrate his memories. Audience members, many of whom were student jazz enthusiasts, also had the opportunity to ask questions during the show as well as meet Pee Wee after in the Foyer.

Produced by The Edge, this intimate and atmospheric evening was recorded by Ronnie Scott’s Radio. With Rose Yemelyanova, who was among those mentored by Pee Wee for Platform, playing piano during the interval.

The recording of this unique event as part of Bath Fringe Festival will also be going out on the following channels: Jazz 90.1 (Rochester, NY), Jazz.FM91 (Toronto, Canada) and British Airways long haul flights.

Tune in!
