Sunday 8th October – 10am – 4pm
In conjunction with their performances of DAVID, we’re delighted that digital dance choreographer Rebecca Evans and her dance company Pell Ensemble will be leading a Dance & Coding workshop for members of the Edge Arts Community at The Edge. This one day dance and coding workshop will be led by Rebecca Evans and physical coding educator Su Adams. A full day that will get you moving, coding and creating interactive environments that can be used for performance and everyday spaces.
The morning will focus on using movement (no experience necessary) to deliver an understanding of the principles of programming and how these can be used in a choreographic and digital context. In the afternoon the participants will use Crumbles and Arduinos (no experience necessary) to build their own interactive lights. The final hour will bring the movement and light together for a digital dance testing session.
What the day will involve:
● 1 day dance and physical computing workshop for all levels of dance and digital skills (no experience of dance or coding necessary)
● Great for those interested in digital performance, physical computing and creating interactive environments
● Engaging solutions to helping people understand computational thinking and programming principles in new ways
● A fun day to step out of the usual dance studio/computing environments and test new ideas
FREE for Edge Arts Community members and University of Bath students
