An introduction to digital art through coding, come along and create your own interactive drawing tools using shapes, images and live video input. We will explore the creative artistic possibilities with a minimal set of coded instructions using the open source Processing language and development environment (processing.org) Explore and understand some of the creative process that is present in the gallery works currently and be inspired by the possibilities of computational and glitch art practices. Bring a memory stick to take your creations and code home for further exploration. No experience necessary.
ASHLEY JAMES BROWN
Ashley is an internationally respected artist and developer based in Coventry UK creating emotive nostalgic experiences using code, electronics and sound. As a creative technologist he works in collaboration with many cultural organisations, private businesses, collaborations, groups and individual artists to realise their creative potential with technology. Either directly as the creator of technology enabled experiences, or as a consultant, Ashley has over 10 years experience working professionally with a wide variety of software and hardware, often at the cutting edge of digital technology.
