Digital Dreams

The Edge

In conjunction with our latest exhibition The Fantastical Multimedia Pop-up Project, we’re hosting a day of fun, interactive and hands-on activities and workshops exploring digital technologies. Think gaming, robots, animation and coding.

Facilitated by experts in the field, artists and designers discover what YOU can design and make.

Bristol-based game developer ALISTAIR AITCHESON will be bringing two of his games Tap Happy Sabotage and Codex Bash for teams to play. Alistair creates mobile and tablet games, educational games, interactive performance and playable installations. His work is known for its emphasis on physical activity and social interaction, often with custom-made hardware.

We’ll be having a BBQ in the Garden Terrace at The Edge (donations welcome), experience our gallery installations and brand new pieces by design duo Unit Lab inspired by VR, 3D printing, AI and motion capture.

Meet UNIT LAB and find out more about their work, interests and how they merge design and science together. It’s also a chance to meet some of the University researchers and hear about the ways they’re contributing to future industries and innovation.

Join artist & developer ASHLEY JAMES BROWN at his two workshops. Ashley is an internationally respected artist and developer based in Coventry UK creating emotive nostalgic experiences using code, electronics and sound. As a creative technologist he works in collaboration with many cultural organisations, private businesses, collaborations, groups and individual artists to realise their creative potential with technology.
