Have you always fancied having a go at making a film but don’t know where to start?
We’ve invited our friends at Bristol based production company and film school Screenology to design a one day intensive filmmaking session specifically for young people aged 14-18 years.
In this workshop participants will create a short documentary-style film inspired by the films in our current exhibition Unintended Consequences. Artists Maeve Brennan and Imram Perretta will share their motivations and unique perspectives to the filmmaking process, helping you to tease out ideas.
The morning will be spent learning interview techniques and camera handling and in the afternoon the captured footage will be edited into a completed video. You’ll be given an overview of the whole filmmaking process from concept, through ACTION! (clapperboards at the ready) to IT’S A WRAP! Working in teams, you’ll be working against the clock to plan, shoot and edit the film.
The workshop starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm. The exhibition will be open from 9am so you can watch Maeve and Imran’s films before the start of the workshop.
Suitable for complete beginners, no previous experience is required. Limited places - advance booking required.
