Be inspired by the bodgers of the past who lived a power free existence in the Buckinghamshire woodlands and make your own chair in Will Shannon’s Market Factory. A chance for you to make something useful, learn much needed carpentry skills and swap tips. Our associate chair makers will guide you through the process of making a simple wooden chair.
Market Factory is part of a family of installations by artist and designer Will Shannon that offer the chance for anyone to engage in the act of making. Activated or performed with regularity by the artist and his associates, the installations become ‘live’ at designated times during the exhibition.
Workshops are FREE but participants can Pay What You Decide (PWYD) towards materials if they want to take the chair home with them. Sessions are suitable for adults (18+) and will last approximately 2-4 hours depending on your skill level. No previous experience necessary.
