Come and help us build a huge anamorphic drawing
The Mirror Pillar is a giant 2m high cylindrical mirror, which reflects and distorts images from the ground around it to create beautiful and interesting anamorphic artworks. We’re hosting the Mirror Pillar at The Edge during half-term in partnership with the Maths Department’s Outreach project (run by Ben Sparks and Tamsin Smith).
Join us in the Weston Studio to discover the mathematics and geometry behind projected and distorted images and create your own. Help us build a huge anamorphic artwork, create smaller versions (which you can take home!), and play with maths/projections/geometry in a creative way. Suitable for families, school age students, adults, and the curious!
The Mirror Pillar is a maths outreach touring project conceived by Matt Parker and Katie Steckles. mirror-pillar.co.uk
