The Musicians of Bremen

Weston Studio

A highly visual show, with puppetry, live music, circus and movement.

A musical adaptation of Grimm’s tale The Musicians of Bremen tells the story of 4 elderly animals put to pasture; a donkey, a cat, a cockerel and a dog. Too old to be of any use to their masters, French theatre company Compagnie Animotion bring to life their adventures to find one another using puppetry, movement, trapeze, and live music in this beautiful non-verbal work for young audiences.

Compagnie Animotion have been making non-verbal work since 2005. Based in the south of France their work is multidisciplinary exploring techniques such as mime, dance, live music and puppetry. More recently they have begun to incorporate contemporary circus and aerial dance into their shows.

The company are passionate about creating work which is inclusive for Deaf and international audiences. The 11am performance at The Edge will be a relaxed performance which is open to everyone, particularly families with children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, individuals with sensory and communication disorders, those with learning disabilities and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment.
