Think science can’t be entertaining? Then prepare to be amazed.
We welcome renowned science comedian Dr Steve Cross back to The Edge, having previously hosted our popular Science Show Offs and Knowledge Cabarets. This special evening for Future European Researchers’ Nights promises to be a fun evening of sci-art and entertainment, considering the links between art and science with fun and laughter along the way.
Kicking off with a panel discussion about sci-art collaborations the evening will conclude with a series of science stand up sets from some of the funniest academics around.
Performers include University of Bath researchers: Dr Alex Narduzzo, Physics; Dr John Troyer, Social & Policy Sciences; Dr Ioannis Costas Batlle, Education; Caroline Hickman, Social & Policy Sciences; Izzy Thomlinson, Chemistry; Alex Lathbridge, Biology & Biochemistry.
Dr Alex Narduzzo’s performance includes collaborators Architectural Sculptor Robert Olins www.robolins.net, and Sonic Artist Lee Berwick www.leeberwick.com.
Visions of Science: European Researchers’ Night is part of FUTURES, a series of free events taking place across Bristol and Bath to celebrate European Researchers’ Night on Friday 28 September. It has been organised by University of Bath, University of Bristol and Bath Spa University.
This is a ticketed event which begins at 5.30pm. The panel discussion will begin at 6pm prompt. Canapes will be served.

European Researchers’ Night is funded by the EU Commission and aims to engage the European public in celebrating the latest and most stimulating research at a local and an international level. Simultaneous events will take place in over 300 cities, spanning 24 European countries.
An entertaining evening exploring the connections between art and science.
