Speakers include; BARNABAS CALDER, historian of architecture and author of Raw Concrete, The Beauty of Brutalism Liverpool University, KEN WORPOLE one of Britain’s most influential writers on architecture, landscape and public policy and MARTIN GLEDHILL, Senior Teaching Fellow in Architecture, University of Bath.
The symposium is followed by an opportunity to discover the brutalist architecture of University of Bath in a walking tour with Dr Amy Frost curator at Museum of Bath Architecture. The tour will include a look at ‘6East’ the architecture building designed by Alison and Peter Smithson, key proponents of the Brutalist movement in the UK and featured in the Museum of Bath Architecture exhibition Past, Present, Future: Bath and the Smithsons running until November 26th.
