How does architecture and urban space inspire and shape the work of leading contemporary artists? Through photography, installation and performance Rut Blees Luxemburg’s works critiqued representations of the contemporary city through photography and installation. Melanie Manchot’s work explores performance and participation of people in urban space; her recent film work Parkour, follows the runs, jumps and somersaults of a parkour runner across the city of Newcastle, and Gayle Chong Kwan whose work with communities puts people at the heart of city identitie. What plans does Chong Kwan have in mind for a forthcoming project planned for Bath?
