The exhibition provides a platform to showcase the work of UK-based drawing practitioners, from student to established, and as a project helps to define a wider understanding of the role and value of drawing in creative practice.
This year 61 works by 55 artists have been selected from 2,537 submissions from across the UK by artist Glenn Brown; Curator and Director, Kupferstich-Kabinett at Staatliche Kunstammlungen Dresden, Stephanie Buck; and Director, Modern Art Oxford, Paul Hobson.

Jerwood Drawing Prize is a joint initiative, led by PROFESSOR ANITA TAYLOR, at Bath Spa University, School of Art and Design, and supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation through its contemporary gallery programme Jerwood Visual Arts. The 20th anniversary of the Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition was celebrated in 2014, and in 2015 Jerwood Charitable Foundation marked 15 years of its support for the prize.

Hosted by Anita Taylor (co-founder of JDP and Dean of Bath School of Art & Design, Bath Spa) and Jamie Eastman (Director of Arts, University of Bath) this special afternoon looks at definitions of drawing in contemporary scenarios such as JDP via radical and traditional examples. Sessions include a public lecture from artist and writer DEANNA PETHERBRIDGE, author of The Primacy of Drawing and panel discussion featuring JDP16 First Prize winner SOLVEIG SETTEMSDAL.
